Sculpture Gallery

 

As a sculptor, I work primarily in stone, using a subtractive direct carving method. My work is abstract / formalist - drawing strongly on my interests in landscape and soft organic forms - and also my background in 3D computer animation, photography and cinematography; creating forms to be viewed from different perspectives, juxtaposing their volumes, edges and shading.

 

Sculptors I admire and draw inspiration from are Steve Dilworth (still working on the Isle of Harris), George Kennethson, Constantin Brancusi, Isamu Noguchi, Henri Gaudier-Brzeska and Barbara Hepworth - many examples of their work can be found on my Pinterest page.
